This barrel microscope of unknown manufacturer is a model that is more complex than the previous ones. It presents an arm with a «bull’s eye» magnifying glass that concentrates the incident light.
With this lighting system, it was possible to observe small structures or insects that were placed in the metal ring with a glass bottom (live box) that accompanies the device. These early models do not have a condenser. Its size is 180 mm high and 50 mm in diameter at the base.
