The dimensions of this Waechter Stativ IV monocular microscope are: height 26.5 cm and diameter of the optical tube 2.9 cm. The objective consists of four small diameter lenses (8 mm), which can be overlapped by thread. Coarse focusing is done by sliding the optical tube. Fine focus is achieved by a curious mechanism that raises the stage by means of a tilting movement. This brings it closer to the target by turning an elevator screw that is actuated from the rear of the support shaft.

It is a “reverse focus” mechanism. The iron foot, blued in black, is in the shape of a horseshoe with dimensions of 8 x 6.5 x 1.30 cm. It has a cherry wood box; On its cover it bears the stamp of the manufacturer and that of the distributor.

In this collection we have the Stativ IV and V models. Both are the same in dimensions and focus mechanism, they only differ in optics, which is more complex in the V model.
